ABOUT SAADANI

Saadani National Park is a unique and remarkable conservation area with a captivating history. Officially established as a national park, Saadani has evolved into a globally recognized destination for wildlife enthusiasts. In 2005, it was designated as a national park, encompassing an expansive area that harmoniously combines terrestrial and marine ecosystems, covering approximately 1,100 square kilometers.

Saadani National Park, situated along the Tanzanian coast, boasts a diverse range of habitats, including pristine beaches, mangrove forests, and inland wilderness. This dynamic landscape contributes to the park’s designation as both a World Biosphere Reserve and a World Heritage Site.

 

GAME DRIVE IN TANZANIA

When to Go:

Saadani National Park experiences distinct wet and dry seasons:

Dry Season (June to October and December to February):

Ideal for wildlife viewing as animals congregate around water sources. Clear skies and pleasant temperatures.

Wet Season (March to May and November):

Lush green landscapes and vibrant flora. Birdwatching is excellent during this time. Some areas may become inaccessible due to heavy rains. The choice of when to visit depends on your preferences. Dry seasons are generally more popular for traditional safari experiences, while the wet season offers a different perspective with lush vegetation and birdlife.

Saadani National Park has an airstrip, facilitating easy access by air.

Scheduled and private charters use the airstrip, providing convenient options for visitors.

The airstrip is well-maintained for all-weather landings.

Road:

Access to Saadani is primarily through established entry points.

Entry points include Naabi Hill, Seronera, Ndutu, Kusini, Kirawira, Handajega, Ikoma, Tabora ‘B’, Lamai, and Kleins.

Ensure that you follow designated roads and entry points to minimize environmental impact.
