Nature Responsible Safari

Rombo Project

“In the Rombo project, participants will have the opportunity to engage in various activities aimed at supporting schools, visiting Rombo Village, and volunteering at the Cornel Ngaleku Children Centre, an orphan centre. Throughout the tour, volunteers will have the chance to immerse themselves in different activities, such as teaching, community outreach, and assisting with the daily operations of the orphan centre. This experience offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while experiencing the culture and community of Rombo. Whether you’re passionate about education, social work, or simply making a positive impact, this project provides a fulfilling and enriching experience for all involved.”

Also, visitors will visit schools and engage in some activities in school, such as volunteering in school and donating what is needed.

In a society where women need to fight more, my ambition grew into dreams that became a reality. I tell a story of thousands of women before me and thousands after. My name is Fransisca Masika, a wife, a mother, an entrepreneur and a dreamer. I want to take you on a journey that could be an exceptional experience for you too because it would allow you too see from my eyes.

SHORT STORY ABOUT FRANCISCA WHO CAME FROM ROMBO THE DIRECTOR OF NATURE RESPONSIBLE SAFARI,

I come from the District of Rombo, Tarakea in the Kilimanjaro Region. I am from the Chagga tribe, also famous for habituating around the Kilimanjaro region. I grew up in a small village with both my parents and 4 siblings until the age of 7, where I moved to Arusha after the separation of both my parents. Despite me leaving my home at such a young age, I still hold a big part of it. My family in Rombo has been producing their own meals, just as most of the people in the village do. Today, over 3 decades later, my family still produces everything as organically as they can.

I am now a managing director of a Safari Company called Nature Responsible Safari. It focuses on eco-tourism and has been established since 2012. After all this time, I still want to help my community in every way I can. Working in the tourism sector has helped me find so much exposure into ways that I could do that too. And with all this in mind, I would love to share this part of me with the world, with you. Visiting Tanzania is more than just the wildlife and parks, more than just seeing new locations. It entails touching people’s hearts and making a difference. Hence, I want to take you on this journey that allows you to do that through a special safari package. This package can be added to your wildlife safari. Give us the dates and we will do the rest.

OUTLINE OF THE SAFARI PACKAGE:

  • Visit to a Children’s Orphanage.

This Safari package touches on directly impacting the community. It entails a visit to an orphanage in my home area, with children from the age of 0 to 5. They are children who have grown under difficult circumstances with some living with AIDS. You will spend 2 days in this orphanage, directly interacting and engaging with the children. We advise that as you pack in preparation to your trip to Tanzania, you could always look into any clothes that act as extras for you. Clothing for these children goes a long way to help them and are of much value for them. Thank you in advance for considering this.

  • Visit in Local Village.

The Safari package also entails a trip to my small local village, where I grew up in. You will head up to the village and have direct interaction with the people and my family. By this, you will be able to realize the differences my family made that put them in a better position in the village. A few of the projects you will encounter are:

  • Bio-gas Production.

You will see and learn how my family made Bio-gas that is used for all sorts of things like cooking. It is created through the dung of cattle which is generated traditionally to create gas.

  • Water Reservoir.

You will see how the family gets its water from underground and how it was and still is able to work as a source for every other person in the whole village.

  • Farming and Animal Keeping.

Farming plays a very huge role in the family as it is the source of food. Once you get there, you will notice that everything that you will eat or consume comes straight from the farm outside, not so far from the house. You will also notice that the family owns a variety of domesticated animals like cows, chicken and pigs. This helps in providing other food necessities like milk and eggs.

You will spend around 3 nights with my family, all while you engage and indulge yourself in these activities.

  • Visit a local Primary School.

Along the sparse but lively village exists a local school for young children, Naiyeme Primary School. You will visit it during the course of your stay in the village. The school has been there even before my existence and is very old. The infrastructure of the school is old and needs a lot of renovations to be done. By choosing and travelling with this package, you are directly helping the school by paying for the re-building and renovation of the buildings. The money directly goes to the costs needed which includes the construction workers who will be in charge of the project and the cost of the materials. A thousand miles always begins with one step.

We can’t wait to have you experience this journey with us.
