This will most likely be a polepole day. Due to the jetlag, we want you to have humble time to sleep and have breakfast. You will depart at around 1000hrs where you will start your new adventure to Lake Eyasi. Lake Eyasi is a rift valley lake and is known for having hippos who like to cool off during the hot seasonal periods. Lake Eyasi, however, is known more for having one of the most unique cultural interactions which you will get to experience. Your driver will pick you up from the accommodation and you will begin your safari.

Along the way, you will get to see a beautiful landscape and vegetative cover. Tanzania is a beautiful country to drive in, mostly because with every turn, you will see breathtaking landscapes and views. The drive to your destination takes about 2 hours and your first stop will be Kisima Ngenda. Kisima Ngenda, one of the Entara Lodges, overlooks the beautiful lake Eyasi and boasts an amazing sunset. Your driver will make sure that you leave with lunchboxes for a picnic lunch by the lake later during the day.

Lake Eyasi is known for having hundreds of bird species including pelicans and flamingoes and is a bird watcher’s paradise on a cool day by its shore. It does not have a lot of game compared to different regions in the northern circuit hence you might not see the big five here. The first stop will be visiting the Hadzabe tribe or the Hadza of Tanzania. This is one of the last indigenous tribes of Tanzania and they are unique in a sense that they live just like the ancestral people of the past where they hunt and gather food. They are nomads, meaning that they migrate and move depending on the season during certain times of the year. This is a very unique experience that will allow you to understand how they get on with their day-to-day life.

You will then have your picnic lunch and then head towards Ngorongoro Crater where you will be spending the night at Lion’s paw, an accommodation that will blow your mind away. It allows the delicate existence of wildlife and beings. Recharge and refresh as you take your time going through everything you saw during the day.

Ngorongoro is a Maasai word that means ‘Black Hole’ which actually symbolizes the crater formation that look like a hole when viewed from above.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area covers an area of about 260 squared kilometers. Get to explore Africa’s ‘Garden of Eden’ in the comfort of your safari vehicle and get to spot the Big five – Elephant, buffalo, leopard, black mane lion and the rare black rhino. You will also be able to see hyenas, jackals, flamingos and the yawning hippos. you will descend into the crater which is filled with both vegetation, forestry and animals. The crater was formed by volcanic activities in the past that caused the creation of a caldera. The caldera got deeper and bigger with a depth of about 610meters. Enjoy a delightful picnic lunch in the heart of this ancient volcanic crater close to the hippo pool after game drive and start heading towards the great Serengeti for your accommodation. This day might be a bit exhausting but it will all be worth it.

In the evening, you will head back to Lion’s Paw for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 & 6 : GAME DRIVE SERENGETI

Serengeti might have been a term you have heard Tanzania for and today you’ll get to experience it by hand. ‘Serengeti’ is a Maasai word that means ‘Endless Plain’ as it represents a vast plain that goes towards the horizon. It is about 14,763 squared kilometers and consists of three parts; The Northern, Southern and Central (Seronera). Serengeti is known for the existence of The Circle of Life and demonstrates this through The Great Migration. You will depart Lion’s Paw with lunchboxes as you prepare to head over to Serengeti plains for game drive.
By being on the central part of Serengeti, you will enjoy the best experience due to it being at the heart of the Serengeti plains. It is famous for the great wildebeest crossing every year where they move from Maasai Mara game Reserve in Kenya to Serengeti through the Mara River in the months of September to January or early February.

If you are interested in seeing big cats; then Central Serengeti is the place for you. Being filled with Kopjes and rocky surface; it becomes a resting place for the predators. The Seronera is also a good place to do Hot Air Balloon to experience the African sunrise as the animals co-exist in the horizon. Experience a ‘Lion King’ moment and take in this unforgettable view.

You will be staying in Sametu where you will have access to a beautiful view of the Seronera plains. Enjoy the day in the beautiful plains and then recharge and recenter in the beautiful Sametu Lodge as you enjoy dinner and overnight stay.
