Book our 4 Days Volunteering Project to West Kilimnajaro 

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 : Depart Arusha or Moshi to Tarakea

Depart from Arusha in the morning. Your guide will pick you up. The journey by road typically takes around 4-5 hours, depending on traffic. Enjoy the scenic views along the way, passing through rural landscapes, and small towns, and possibly seeing Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. Arrive in Tarakea by afternoon or early evening. Check into your accommodation in Tarakea. Spend the evening exploring the village, enjoying local cuisine, or relaxing.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner 

Overnight: Homestay

Day 2 : All Day volunteer in the school

  1. Arrival: Arrive at the school early in the morning, around 7:30 AM, to meet with the school staff and get oriented.

  2. Introduction and Briefing: Meet with the school’s headteacher or designated staff member who will provide you with an overview of the school, its facilities, and the activities planned for the day.

  3. Assistance with Morning Activities: Offer to assist with morning activities such as assembly, classroom setup, or any other tasks that the school requires help with.

  4. Classroom Assistance: Spend the morning assisting teachers in various classrooms. This could involve helping students with their studies, leading educational activities, or providing additional support to teachers as needed.

Midday: 5. Lunch Break: Take a break around midday to have lunch. You can either bring your own lunch or inquire if the school provides meals for volunteers.

Afternoon: 6. Continued Classroom Assistance: Resume your volunteering activities in the afternoon, assisting teachers and students in classrooms.

  1. Extracurricular Activities: Participate in any extracurricular activities that the school offers, such as sports, arts and crafts, or music sessions.

  2. Interactive Sessions: Organize interactive sessions with students on topics of interest, such as cultural exchange, language learning, or global awareness.

Late Afternoon: 9. Feedback and Reflection: Meet with the school staff to provide feedback on your volunteering experience and discuss any insights or suggestions for improvement.

Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner 

Overnight: Homestay 

 

Day 3 : Visit the Ophanage

  1. Arrival: Arrive at the orphanage in the morning, around 9:00 AM, or at a time coordinated with the orphanage staff.

  2. Introduction and Orientation: Meet with the orphanage staff who will provide you with an introduction to the facility, its mission, and the children under its care. They may also give you guidelines for interacting with the children.

  3. Tour of the Facility: Take a tour of the orphanage to familiarize yourself with the living quarters, common areas, and any recreational facilities available for the children.

  4. Interactive Activities: Engage in interactive activities with the children, such as storytelling, arts and crafts, games, or music sessions. Be sure to adapt the activities to the age group and interests of the children.

Midday: 5. Lunch Break: Take a break around midday to have lunch. You can either bring your own lunch to share with the children or inquire if the orphanage provides meals for visitors.

Afternoon: 6. Continued Interaction: Spend the afternoon continuing to interact with the children, engaging in activities that promote bonding, laughter, and positive experiences.

  1. Educational Support: Offer educational support by assisting children with homework, reading stories, or providing informal lessons in subjects of interest.

Late Afternoon: 8. Personal Time with Children: Allocate some one-on-one time with individual children to listen to their stories, offer encouragement, and provide emotional support.

  1. Donation or Contribution: If you’ve brought along donations such as clothing, books, school supplies, or toys, distribute them among the children under the supervision of the orphanage staff.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner 

Overnight: Homestay 

Day 4 : Back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport

Departure to the Airport, Your guide  will pick you up for the homestay and transfer to the airport for deparure.
